It seems we trust the person delivering a shot much more than we trust those delivering a sermon.
The latest Gallup poll found Americans believe nurses have the highest honesty and ethical standards. Behind nurses, whom 80 percent believe have high or very high standards, were medical doctors and pharmacists – both at 65 percent.
Police officers (48) and clergy (46) were next and topped low ranking careers such as lawyers, car salespeople, and members of Congress.
Last year marked the first year pastors had fallen below 50 percent since Gallup began asking the question in 1976.
In 2014, virtually every career dropped in the eyes of the public, including clergy, who fell one point from their previous low of 47 percent.
