Taxes Come Due
The income tax filing deadline is this week. With several changes to the tax code enacted by the Trump administration, many are looking forward to how those changes will affect future filings. Congress also continues to look into ways to reform and streamline the tax system in the U.S.
Barbara Bush Nearing End of Life
News broke this weekend that former First Lady Barbara Bush has decided to neglect any further end-of-life care. At 92, Bush continues a trend of modern First Ladies with long lives. Only one first lady born since 1900 (Jackie Kennedy) has passed away before the age of 81. Kennedy was 64 at the time of her death in 1994.
Trial for Imprisoned Pastor
Pastor Andrew Brunson faces a trial in Turkey this week after being imprisoned (falsely) since October of 2016 on charges of being disloyal to the Turkish government. Open Doors USA and others are calling for prayer and intervention on his behalf.
