Trump and Putin Meet
President Trump is in Helsinki, Finland today for bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The meeting comes just days after Special Counsel for the Department of Justice Robert Mueller charged 12 Russian intelligence officers with hacking during 2016 election. The investigation along with oil sales to the EU are sure to be among topics of conversation today.
Boomers Coming Back
In a blog post at his site today, Thom Rainer has some surprising data from a USC longitudinal study that suggests nearly 1 in 5 Boomers have increased their religious or church activity in the past five years. This shift could be monumental for the church in the U.S.
Sex Abuse Scandals Continue to Rock the Church
Two more #ChurchToo sex abuse stories came to light last week—one even included an arrest. Both involve former youth pastors preying on teenage girls. These come just weeks after Andy Savage, whose case is similar, resigned as teaching pastor at a church in Memphis—a church whose senior pastor also resigned last week.
Planned Parenthood Defunded by Palmetto State
Planned Parenthood, the leading abortion provider in the US, has been removed from Medicaid funding in the state of South Carolina. Governor Henry McMaster announced the cuts Friday. South Carolina becomes one of nearly 20 states who have cut Planned Parenthood from state budgets.

The Major League Baseball All-Star Game and festivities take place this week in our nation’s capital. The annual home run derby, a fan favorite, takes place tonight with the game on Tuesday night.
