Kavanaugh Confirmation Vote in Doubt
Brett Kavanaugh, Trump’s nominee to fill the Supreme Court opening left vacant by Anthony Kennedy, continues toward a senate confirmation vote, but 11th hour allegations of sexual impropriety continue to arise. None have yet been substantiated, but rumors and allegations persist.
Trump to Wield Gavel at U.N. Security Council Meeting
On Wednesday, President Donald Trump will chair the United Nations Security Council meeting to discuss sanctions against Iran in what will likely be one of the most-watched security council meeting ever.
Wilmington Facing Devastating Flooding from Florence
Floodwaters continue to rise in southeast North Carolina. Wilmington, the coastal town where television’s Dawson’s Creek was filmed, is facing flooding previously unseen in the area.
The Cape Fear River is expected to crest at record levels this week, but until then, residents and workers are forced to wait on the water to recede before beginning recovery work.
New TV Season
Broadcast networks begin their fall seasons this week with the debuts of new shows and the return of seasoned favorites.
Among the new shows drawing positive reviews is CBS’ God Friended Me. Check back later in the week for more information on the show which debuts Sunday night, September 30.
Tiger’s Back
Tiger Woods won his first PGA Tour event in more than five years this past weekend with a wire-to-wire win at the Tour Championship outside Atlanta.
The timing couldn’t be better as the Ryder Cup approaches this weekend in Paris. Woods was named as a member of the U.S. team earlier this fall and is playing his best golf in years. The United States team is the reigning champion after its dominant 17-11 win in 2016.
