There’s a new app you need to download on your beloved smartphone, and no, I’m not referring to the latest Angry Birds offering. (Even if that is an excellent distraction when you’re killing time between hospital visits.)
No, I’m talking about the new and improved CSB Study App which you can get for free here for iOS or Android. I love the CSB Study Bible, but let’s be honest; you’re not going to fit it in your pocket—at least, not until Jncos come back in style.
Here are four of my favorite features about the new app.
1. Access to the Goods
Not only will you have access to CSB text (which, by the way, doesn’t pull data), there’s also a free audio Bible for you to enjoy while you travel, workout, or aim to internalize Scripture while studying.
You’ll also find at your fingertips, the option to add access to the CSB Study Bible, Spurgeon Study Bible, Disciple’s Study Bible, and more.
With the addition of study notes, articles, maps, charts, reading plans, concordances, essays, and more, the CSB Study App can truly be your one-stop spot for on-the-go Bible access.
2. Note-taking Abilities
I love how you can highlight and underline your favorite verses in the app. You can even bookmark them if you’d like to have quick access to, say, the “Roman Road,” for evangelistic opportunities.
And while you’ll be hard-pressed to improve upon the CSB Journaling Bible or your trusty journal, being able to add notes in the margins of your device is a nice feature I’ve used several times.
3. Keyword Searches
I do my in-depth studying most often on my computer, but sometimes, you want to find what the Bible says from beginning to end about a particular subject like faith or peace. This app will let you do so with intuitive ease. It’s like having a free topical Bible built into the app.
Further, the last 50 Scripture searches you make will save to help you pick up where you left off.
4. Social Media Engagement
Friends, this is my favorite feature! Do you ever come across a verse in your reading that you want to share on social media? You can highlight and share your favorite verses or notes on Facebook, Twitter, email, or text message.
(Unfortunately, there are no plans to incorporate MySpace at this time. Sorry, Tom.)
The CSB Study App features the highly-readable, highly-reliable text of the Christian Standard Bible. The CSB stays as literal as possible to the Bible’s original meaning without sacrificing clarity, making it easier to engage with Scripture’s life-transforming message and to share it with others. Learn more about the CSB at CSBible.com.
We don’t make hard-sells on Lifeway Pastors often. However, we did want you to be aware of the benefits of the new and improved CSB Study App. Download and explore it today, and I suspect it’ll become your favorite in no time.
