Do you need a break? Do you need to rest? Lifeway’s Ridgecrest Conference Center has what you need: an affordable opportunity to get away for a few nights.
Located only fifteen minutes from Asheville, North Carolina (a Good Morning America’s 2015 Top Travel Destination) is Lifeway’s Ridgecrest Conference Center. Ridgecrest, as it is commonly known, was birthed in the heart of B.W. Spilman as early as 1895. The original 940 acres for the center was purchased in 1907. From the Ridgecrest history:
Both the North Carolina Baptist State Convention and the Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention (now Lifeway Christian Resources) endorsed the project. The very same engineering firm that laid out the magnificent Biltmore Estate, was employed. 1909 saw the first summer program and drew 600 people. Hence the beginning of a dream coming true.
Over the years Ridgecrest has grown to around 1,300 acres and God has worked in the lives of millions of people there.
One of the ways God has used Ridgecrest is in ministry to pastors through minister getaways:
Our minister getaways provide the rest and renewal you’ve been looking for individually, or use it as an inexpensive vacation with your family. Plenty of on-campus recreation including hiking, volleyball, miniature golf and more, all set against breathtaking mountain scenery. Take advantage of great area sightseeing attractions, as well as quality area golf courses, whitewater rafting, art galleries, shopping and dining venues. All minister getaways now include access to our pastor study with over 300 books and commentaries.
Best of all, those in full-time Christian ministry can come to Ridgecrest and enjoy an incredible room rate of $49.00 per night for up to four persons per room. (This rate is based on room availability and does not apply to groups. Rate cannot be used to attend any scheduled conference or event, and is subject to change.)
Minister getaways are not limited to Southern Baptist pastors. In the words of Executive Director Art Snead, “Any full-time employee of a Christ-centered ministry qualifies.”
