In March of this year, Holman Bible Publishers will release the Christian Standard Bible (CSB). The CSB
is a revision of the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB), updating translation and word choices in order to improve on the HCSB’s balance of faithfulness and clarity, as well as to enhance the shareability of the translation to new Christians or those reading the Bible for the first time.
From CSBible.com:
The Bible is meant to be read, understood, and shared. So your translation of God’s Word should be true-to-the-original and one you like to read.
The Christian Standard Bible captures the Bible’s original meaning without compromising clarity. An optimal blend of accuracy and readability, this new translation helps readers make a deeper connection with God’s Word and inspires lifelong discipleship. The CSB is for everyone—for readers young and old, new and seasoned. It’s a Bible pastors can preach from and a Bible you can share with your neighbor hearing God’s Word for the very first time.
You’ll find the CSB to be highly trustworthy and deeply satisfying.
I am personally using the CSB for my read-through-the-Bible plan for 2017 and have been encouraged by this translation. The arguments between Job and his friends, for instance, are clear and the word choices appropriate. In fact, you can read it online at read.csbible.com.
Tomorrow at 2:00ET/1:00CT, I’ll hosting a Facebook Live interview with Dr. Trevin Wax, Bible and Reference Publisher at Lifeway, and Brandon Smith, Bibles & Reference Spokesperson. You will be able to watch it live on the Lifeway Pastors Facebook page.
I hope you will be able to join this informative interview on this exciting new translation.
