This 2017 study examines the leadership of pastors of smaller churches (250 or less in worship attendance) in the area of evangelism. The study was sponsored by the Billy Graham Center for Evangelism, Wheaton College and the Caskey Center for Church Excellence, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and 12 individual denominations.
The initial findings from the survey of 1,500 pastors of smaller Evangelical and Black Protestant churches were released in the July/August issue of Outreach magazine. The report below provides comparisons of two groups of churches within this sample based on the number of people who made new commitments to Jesus Christ as Savior and also became active in the life of the church.
Releases based on additional analysis will be made available later this year.
